There is a lot of noise online as it relaters to health & fitness. The questions I get asked are often coming from a place of confusion due to the opposing information found from influencers and professionals with outdated information.

My goal is to provide education and suggestions that allow you to take control over your health. To take control of our health it is helpful to have ideals to strive for. Below I have 7 Healthy Lifestyle Pillars that I offer as a model for you to compare your current lifestyle to. Utilize the goals and habits you established and see which pillar(s) they fall under.

While the ebb and flow of life poses a challenge to be consistent with all of our Pillars, use them as a time to reflect and assess where you are consistently placing your efforts.

7 Healthy Lifestyle Pillars
Movement - Sleep - Nutrition - Energy - Digestion - Stress - Recovery
  1. Movement: Regular physical activity is not just about fitness; it's a key to overall well-being. Find joy in moving your body, whether through workouts, walks, or dance.

  2. Sleep: Quality sleep is a cornerstone of good health. Prioritize restful nights to rejuvenate your body and mind. Establish a consistent sleep schedule for optimal results.

  3. Nutrition: Food is fuel. Nourish your body with a balanced diet rich in nutrients. Remember, what you eat directly impacts your energy levels and overall vitality.

  4. Energy: Conserve and enhance your energy by making mindful choices. Listen to your body's signals and adjust your activities accordingly.

  5. Digestion: Treat your digestive system with care. Sit down to eat, chew your food thoroughly, and allow your body the time it needs for proper digestion.

  6. Stress: Manage stress through relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and hobbies. A balanced life includes addressing stressors proactively.

  7. Recovery: Give your body the chance to heal and recover. Daily movement promotes blood flow, aiding in recovery and overall well-being.

Which pillars of health do you excel at? Which do you need the most help with?

Basic Lifestyle Guidelines (Adapted from OPEX Fitness)
Below are a list of daily intentions called Basic Lifestyle Guidelines. I love checking in with my clients each month to see how well they are aligning with each of these intentions. These are adapted from OPEX fitness.

  • Time Management: Recognize the value of time. Balance work and rest appropriately to optimize productivity and relaxation.

  • Life Perspective: Acknowledge the finite nature of life. Embrace each day with a positive mindset, seizing opportunities for growth and joy.

  • Hydration: Water is life. Drink half your body weight in ounces daily to keep your body functioning at its best.

  • Circadian Rhythms: Align your sleep-wake cycle with the natural rhythms of the day. Consistent sleep patterns contribute to better overall health.

  • Nature's Influence: Connect with nature. Sun exposure and moonlit nights can positively impact your energy patterns and sleep quality.

  • Blood Flow and Digestion: Prioritize daily routines that promote blood circulation and support proper digestion for optimal health.

  • Recovery: Enhance recovery by facilitating blood flow through regular movement. Your body's ability to heal is a gift; cherish it.

Your health is more than the exercises you complete and the calories you eat. Developing awareness around our 7 Healthy Lifestyle Pillars and setting daily intentions that align with BLGs will have a profound impact in your wellness.

Look for next week’s article where I will be releasing my New E-Book “The Ultimate Lifestyle Guide”. This guide will give you all the tools and resources you need to master the 7 Pillars.
