Break Free from Digestive Issues

Digestive Health
In almost every intake form I review and consult I sit in with my clients they talk about their poor digestive health. Sadly I think we have come to think that having gas, bloating, or diarrhea are normal components of our digestion. This simply is not true and the digestive issues we suffer from are driven by our poor dietary choices.

Some dietary movements have made a living off of convincing people that the abnormalities they experience in their bodies are normal processes and that if they just stick with the process they will achieve the results they desire.
Health and Vitality are our beacon. If we continue to do things that do not push us toward a higher state of vitality we will not create long-lasting change.

Your poor digestive health is a reflection of the dietary choices you are making. Our digestive tract is a continuous tube from our mouth to our colon and the main inputs that determine the health and function of that tract are the things that we put through it. This includes our foods, drinks, medications, and supplements.
Poor-quality inputs will lead to poor-quality outputs.

What is ruining your digestive health?
Our body’s way of signaling what is going well and what is not is through the physical and mental manifestations. Below is a list of signs that the things you are consuming are not serving your body.
  • Excessive and Frequent Gas
  • Frequent and uncomfortable bloating/cramping
  • Constipation/Diarrhea
  • Heart Burn/Acid Reflux
  • Low Energy/Fatigue
  • Skin issues (acne, eczema, psoriasis)
  • Mood Disorders (anxiety/depression)
  • Inability to lose and or maintain weight
While we can’t solve every human ailment with nutritional changes we can change the intensity of them through our daily choices. If you or someone you know is experiencing any of the above issues I encourage you to dive into the list below and discover the things that are ruining your digestive health.

5 things that are ruining your digestive health
  1. Processed food products
  2. Caffeine/alcohol Consumption
  3. Spices
    1. Turmeric, Cardamom, Cumin, Coriander, Nutmeg, Cloves, Mustard, Caraway, Pepper, Paprika, Garlic, Cassia cinnamon
  4. Commonly Consumed Plant Foods
    1. Brown rice, Leafy greens, Vegetables (raw more so than cooked), Beets, Cassava, Alliums, Nightshades, Grains, Mushrooms
  5. Nuts & Seeds, legumes, coffee/tea, chocolate
The lists above do not mean that everyone reading this email should eliminate all of these things from their diet. If you are not struggling with anything on the list above and are in good health these may have less of an impact on your body.

There is also an ancestral difference where those whose ancestors have been consuming these foods for hundreds of years will not have as many issues with them. Context is always important.
