Coaching Humans, Training Bodies Why do we call ourselves Coaches? Fitness professionals Coach Humans and Train their bodies. I have made a big push in the last couple years for us as a company to refer to us as Coaches. Personal training is well recognized as a profession, however, it does an inadequate job of encompassing who we are as professionals. To me a Coach is a professional who addresses the human they are working with first. The clients we work with are parents, spouses, community members, athletes, and most importantly they are Humans. Humans with their own unique set of experiences, circumstances, goals, and motivations. Our responsibilities is to honor the person first. Seeking to understand how they came to where they are and how we can best serve them on the journey to where they are going. For every client we bring into our facility we spend hours getting to know them prior to them starting their training program. First we sit down for a 60 minute conversation to connect on everything related to your health and fitness, then we conduct our head to toe body & movement assessment, and finally we do a one hour coaching session on the floor to familiarize you with our facility. Focusing on coaching our clients rather than solely training them has made the biggest impact on their success. Coaching people through lifestyle, nutrition, and movement prescriptions that are individualized based on their current capacity and long-term goals is what we do every day. If you are struggling to make progress with your health & fitness reply to this post to get started today!
